The San Benito Housing Authority (SBHA) provides housing assistance to eligible households through its Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  To be eligible for these programs, the household must qualify as a family as defined by HUD and the SBHA; have an annual income at or below HUD specified income limits; qualify on the basis of citizenship or eligible status of family members and the SBHA must verify references to make sure family will be good tenants.

PUBLIC HOUSING
The Public Housing (Low-Rent) program was established to provide decent and safe housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and persons with disability.  The SBHA is responsible for the management and operation of its three housing developments located within the City of San Benito: Palmville – a 100 unit mixed-population development that houses both elderly and disabled families; and its multi-family developments Vista Park (65 units), La Hermosa (44 units) and Magnolia Gardens (8 units).  Families may apply for assistance at the link below.

HOUSING CHOICE VOUCHER (Section 8)
The Housing Choice Voucher program allows very low income families to lease safe, decent, and affordable privately-owned rental housing within the City of San Benito that meets affordability and Housing Quality Standard Inspection requirements.  Families may apply for assistance at the link below.
